Patrick Pfister
Patrick Pfister is a board member and current President of the SAMT. He is an independent technical analyst based in Zurich, Switzerland. His unique investment approach is predicated on multiple-timeframe turnaround patterns. He is an internationally recognized personal investment and wealth management expert who is highly sought-after as a professional speaker and executive coach who delivers inspirational workshops, webinars and seminars to corporations, universities and individual groups. He has vast experience in teaching the strategies of technical analysis based on his own educational method and aimed at development of individual views of every trader. James Touati
James D. Touati is the Head of the Zurich Chapter. He is a French trader specializing in futures and CFD trading, technical analyst and stock market trainer. In a pursuit of earning a living from trading, he has developed a profitable trading method successfully, consisting of a mix of tick data, Ichimoku, Fibonacci retracements and levels. James does not only speak 5 languages fluently (French, Englisch, Russian, Spanish, Arabic), but with his solid industrial experience (former CEO JB aviation (Hong Kong), former Chairman M9 global group (PETRONAS), former Partner CHINESE BUSINESS CLUB (Paris) he is a proven global entrepreneur as well. Mario Guffanti
Mario Valentino Guffanti is a board member and Head of the Lugano Chapter. He is a financial advisor, technical analyst and researcher based in Milan, Italy. As an author of technical articles and lecturer as well as instructor in technical analysis courses in Switzerland, he is also dedicated to financial coaching through NLP techniques (neuro-linguistic programming). Ron William
Ron William is a board member and Head of the Geneva Chapter, based in London, UK. He is a market strategist, educator/mentor and performance coach with +20 years of experience, working for leading economic research & institutional firms, producing macro research & trading strategies. He specializes in blended, top-down, semi-discretionary analysis, driven by cycles and proprietary timing models. Ron is also a behavioral finance expert, trading psychologist & performance coach at IntensiChi, using latest techniques in behavioural-risk models, peak-performance, neuroscience and stress response management (SRM), including mindfulness & coherence training. He is a member of two leading neuroscience groups (ANE & NLI), the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and teaches a Masterclass in "Applied Behavioural Science" at the CFA Singapore. Bruno Estier
Bruno Estier is the Head of Education at SAMT. He is a Global Market Advisor and Technical Analyst coach in Geneva for professional Traders and Portfolio Managers. Past President of the SAMT for 12 years, he served also on the board of directors as Chairman and Secretary of the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA). He holds an MSTA from The Society of Technical Analysis in London and the CFTe and MFTA designation from IFTA. After graduating with an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business and a master in economics from the University of Saint Gallen (HSG), he worked 12 years with JP Morgan. Then he joined Lombard Odier & Cie in Geneva for 10 years as Head of the Technical Analysis team reporting to the CIO. Currently Bruno Estier Strategic Technicals provides coaching on the evolution of financial markets based on thirty five years experience of Behavioural and Technical Analysis methodologies. J-F Owczarczak
In the Geneva Chapter of SAMT, Ron William is supported by Jean-François Owczarczak. He is the CEO of Management Joint Trust SA Geneva, a cross assets independent research company, which was founded in 1969 in Geneva, Switzerland, and has been active since in the provision of financial markets analysis and investment consulting services aimed at institutional investors. Jean-François Owczarczak has 16 years of experience in advising institutional investors on tactical and strategic asset allocation, holds the CFTe Financial Technician Certification (for which he also won the 2013 Bronwen Wood Award for the best CFTe diploma paper in 2012!), and is an active member of SAMT and of the STA (the UK society of technical analysts), as well as a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM certification). Alberto Vivanti
Alberto Vivanti is a honorary board member of SAMT. As an independent technical and quantitative analyst since the early 1980s, with a sound experience as an asset manager with Swiss institutions, he is also author of a technical newsletter, lecturer for institutions and instructor in Technical Analysis courses in Switzerland for the IFTA Certification, author of articles and books. Alberto chaired the 2006 IFTA conference hosted by SAMT in Lugano. He has been a speaker at the IFTA Conferences 1998 in Rome, 2006 in Lugano and 2017 in Milano. Contact: alberto.vivanti@samt-org.ch
Barbara Gomperts
Barbara Gomperts is the Head of Design of our SAMT-Journal. She lives outside of Boston, MA and spent 10+ years in the technical department at Fidelity Investments before starting her own graphic design business. She worked with Alberto Vivanti on the 2006 IFTA conference hosted by SAMT in Lugano where she produced the print materials in both English and Italian. She also coordinated the production of the Italian edition of the technical analysis course materials used at the Centro di Studi Bancari in Lugano. Currently, she works with Mario Guffanti and Ron William as the design and production coordinator of The Swiss Technical Analysis Journal, published twice a year.
